Our aim at all times is to maximise the opportunities to play softball. However, when the weather conditions intervene, the following approach will apply and particularly for the finals series:
1. Decisions as to game play will be made on the day and no later than 1 hour before a game slot. Decisions may be made one game slot at a time depending on weather conditions, ground conditions and our overall duty of care.
2. In the event of weather conditions, the game umpires may suspend play particularly if heavy rain or any indication of lightning. Only the Umpire in Chief in conjunction with the HDSA Executive can call off a game slot. Suspension of game remains until it is no longer possible to play at least 40 minutes or have 3 complete innings for a regulation game. A team leaving a diamond of their own accord will be considered a forfeit.
3. In the event of a game being called off, the positions of teams affected will be decided according the the HDSA Rules for the Finals Series.
